Minister condemns Hockey Haryana for ‘irregularities’ at junior Nationals

Kurukshetra, March 21

Haryana’s Sports Minister Sandeep Singh today condemned Hockey Haryana for allegedly not making proper arrangements and providing facilities to the players during the sub-junior national championship being organised in Jind.

“…several irregularities have come to notice,” Sandeep said. “I have been receiving complaints that the players have been made to stay in classrooms. The benches were shifted by the players and the floors were also mopped by them. The sanitation conditions are poor. Covid-related protocol is not being followed,” the former India captain added. “I request the Indian Olympic Association to take cognisance and initiate action. The recognition of Hockey Haryana should also be revoked,” he added.

However, Hockey Haryana president Jaideep Malik denied the allegations. — TNS
