Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri carded a 2-under 70 — his fourth straight under-par round — in the final round to finish tied-39th at the Puerto Rico Open here. Lahiri ended with a total of 6-under 282.
“It was not the kind of a week I was looking for, but I do take some positives and hopefully the next start will go off better,” said Lahiri, who is playing his seventh season on the PGA Tour.
South African Branden Grace closed with a bogey-free 6-under 66 to win the title. Grace’s eagle-birdie finish gave him a 19-under 269 total and his second PGA Tour victory, his first since 2016.
It was an emotional win for 32-year-old Grace, who lost his father last month to Covid-19 complications.
Jhonattan Vegas finished a stroke behind, while local star Rafael Campos was tied for third with Grayson Murray, three shots back.
Bogey-free Aditi T-48th
Orlando: Indian golfer Aditi Ashok carded her best round of the week, a bogey-free 2-under 70, to finish tied-48th at Gainbridge LPGA here. Aditi totalled 1-over 289, an average performance for the Indian who has not been on the LPGA Tour since 2017.
Overnight leader Nelly Korda won her fourth victory on the LPGA Tour since joining in 2017 with a bogey-free 3-under 69 and a total of 16-under 272.
Lexi Thompson carded a third-straight 68 to finish in a tie for second with Lydia Ko at 13-under.
Annika Sorenstam rounded off her first appearance on Tour since 2008 with a final-round 76, and finished in 74th at 13-over. — PTI
