Dubai, October 2
Riding on former India U-19 captain Priyam Garg’s half-century, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored a fighting 164 for five against Chennai Super Kings in their Indian Premier League match here on Friday.
Had it not been for some sensible batting by youngsters Abhishek Sharma (31 off 24 balls) and Garg (51 not out of 26 balls), SRH would not have a competitive total on the board.
CSK’s poor fielding also aided SRH as Sharma was dropped twice in the 18th over before being caught by wicketkeeper MS bowled of Deepak Chahar.
Earlier, Sunrisers skipper David Warner won the toss and opted to bat.
Playing after a week-long break, CSK made three changes to their side, bringing in Shardul Thakur, Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo in place of Murali Vijay, Josh Hazlewood and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
