Doha: Veteran Sharath Kamal bowed out of the World Table Tennis Star Contender series after going down in straight games to world No. 12 Dmitrij Ovtcharov in the men’s singles pre-quarterfinals here today. Sharath, ranked 32nd, lost 9-11 8-11 6-11 to the German.

Punjab hold Mohammedan to 3-3 draw in I-League

Kolkata:  Punjab FC snatched a 3-3 draw after Mohammedan SC scored two goals in as many minutes in the second half in a thrilling I-League clash here today. Chencho Gleytshen’s brace was cancelled out by Faisal Ali and Pedro Manzi strikes in the second half. Azharuddin Mallick then gave Mohammedan the lead only for Ashish Jha to score the equaliser for Punjab in the 88th minute.
