Yes Bank rip-off: Court rejects bail pleas of Wadhawan brothers

Mumbai, July 31

A particular CBI court docket right here on   Friday rejected the bail pleas of DHFL promoter Kapil Wadhawan and his brother Dheeraj, accused within the Yes Bank rip-off.

Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhawan, promoters of Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL) and RKW Developers respectively, had been arrested in April by the CBI in reference to the rip-off.

Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor can be an accused within the case.

According to the CBI FIR, the rip-off began taking form between April and June 2018, when Yes Bank invested Rs 3,700 crore in short-term debentures of the scam-hit DHFL.

In return, the Wadhawans allegedly “paid a kickback of Rs 600 crore” to Kapoor and his members of the family within the type of loans to DoIT Urban Ventures (India) Pvt Ltd held by the latter’s spouse and daughters, the CBI has claimed.

Apart from the CBI, the duo can be being probed by individually by the Enforcement Directorate in reference to the case. PTI
