New Delhi, July 22
In a significant reduction for IT firms, BPOs and their workers, the Centre has prolonged the relaxations of norms for such firms to permit ‘work from home’ for his or her employees until December 31, 2020.
The relaxations to the norms led to for the comfort and security of the IT sector workers amid the pandemic have been attributable to finish on July 31.
“DoT has further extended the relaxations in the Terms and Conditions for Other Service Providers (OSPs) upto 31st December 2020 to facilitate work from home in view of the ongoing concern due to #COVID19,” stated a tweet by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
The authorities had first relaxed the norms until April and later prolonged it until July 31.
The business has hailed the choice.
Thanking Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and DoT Secretary Anshu Prakash, Nasscom President Debjani Ghosh tweeted that the transfer will guarantee enterprise continuity and worker security together with improve of the business’s expertise pool in tier-II and tier-III cities.
