‘We have beds, however no docs’: Bengaluru physician’s plea to battle COVID-19 goes viral

A Bengaluru physician’s passionate plea to fellow docs to affix him and his colleagues to battle the lethal pandemic goes viral.

A clip from HBS hospital in Shivajinagar has been circulating on-line and several other messaging platforms.

“Doctors and Nursing Staff required IMMEDIATELY Contact Dr Shariq,” reads the caption.

In the video, Dr Taha Mateen stated: “I converse from the ICU of HBS Hospital. It’s been a digital massacre. I got here within the morning at like 7:30 within the morning and its 12’o’clock midnight proper now. Patients are repeatedly calling me now ‘cause their fathers are breathless, their brothers are breathless and they cannot find a room in Bengaluru and at this time if you see there is one Mr Shiva and me. There is no other doctor willing to work in this hospital. I have beds, I have oxygen beds, I have ventilators, I have all the equipment. I have another 30 beds like this but I don’t have docs working right here. I discover them on WhatsApp. I would like 6 hours of your time in a day. Please that is my fervent request. This is the time to point out we care. Sometimes the military is within the frontline, typically the hearth persons are within the frontline, typically the police is within the frontline. Right now, you and I, my fellow docs, are within the frontline, allow us to present that we look after humanity.”

In dialog with The News Minutes, they revealed that want no less than 48 docs. After the video was launched, they obtained calls from 5-6 docs.
