‘Unaffected by deaths’: Rahul assaults govt on ‘no knowledge on migrant labourers’ deaths’

Turning to verse to assault the Centre for its assertion that it doesn’t have knowledge on the variety of migrants who died through the lockdown, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday stated the world noticed the deaths however solely the Modi authorities was unaware.

Union Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar informed the Lok Sabha on Monday that the federal government doesn’t have knowledge on the variety of migrants who died or had been injured whereas returning to their native locations because of the lockdown.

In a four-line verse in Hindi, Gandhi responded by saying the Modi authorities doesn’t know what number of migrant labourers died and what number of jobs had been misplaced through the lockdown.

“Did the death not take place if you did not count? But yes, it is sad the government was unaffected by it, The world saw their deaths, only the Modi government was not aware of it,” he stated on Twitter.

The former Congress chief is accompanying his mom Sonia Gandhi throughout her journey to the US for a routine medical check-up.

The authorities’s response in Lok Sabha was to a query by BJD member Bhartruhari Mahtab.

A nationwide lockdown was imposed on March 25 to comprise the unfold of the novel coronavirus.
