Two low-intensity earthquakes had been skilled in Palghar district of Maharashtra, an official mentioned on Saturday.
The tremors had been recorded late on Friday evening inside a spot of almost half an hour, he mentioned.
The first earthquake of 4.zero magnitude was felt in Dahanu tehsil at 11.41 pm, whereas the second of three.6 magnitude was recorded at 12.05 am in Talasari tehsil, chief of Palghar district catastrophe management cell Vivekanand Kadam mentioned.
There was no report of lack of life or harm to property as a result of quakes, he mentioned.
“The tehsildars of Dahanu and Talasari have been directed to carry out a survey in their respective tehsils to know the after-effects,” Kadam added.
An official from Talasari police station mentioned folks ran out of their homes following the quake and remained out a while on account of worry.
Palghar district, particularly its Dahanu and Talasari tehsils, has been witnessing low to reasonable depth earthquakes since November 2018. PTI
