Two DYFI employees hacked to loss of life in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, August 31

Two activists of the youth wing of the CPI(M) have been hacked to loss of life by a bunch of assailants in Kerala on Sunday night time, police mentioned right here on Monday.

DYFI employees Mithilaj, 30 and Haq Muhammed, 24 have been attacked utilizing sharp-edged weapons at Thembamood in Venjaramoodu in Thiruvananthapuram district round 11.30 pm.

While Mithilaj died on the spot, Muhammed misplaced his life whereas being taken to hospital.

Their our bodies have been shifted to the Medical College mortuary.

The DYFI employees have been attacked whereas they have been going to Mithilaj’s house on a motorcycle, police mentioned.

Launching an investigation, police took three individuals into custody in reference to the incident.

Police mentioned it’s suspected that the rivalry between the CPI(M) and the Congress was the explanation for the assault.

The space was tense following the incident, they added.

The CPI(M) and the DYFI alleged that Congress employees have been behind the assault on their activists on the eve of Thiruvonam day.

Terming it a “heinous attack”, CPI(M) state secretariat member Ok N Balagopal alleged the Congress management was accountable for the killing of DYFI activists.

“Two DYFI workers were brutally killed on the eve of Thiruvonam day. It is evident that the Congress, instead of encouraging democratic discourse, is encouraging violence against CPI(M)-DYFI workers in the state. We strongly condemn this heinous attack on DYFI activists,” Balagopal mentioned.PTI
