Two coaches of passenger practice derail at Vasai Road yard

Mumbai, August 11

Two coaches of a passenger practice derailed on the Vasai Road station railway yard close to Mumbai on Tuesday night however no person was injured within the mishap, the Western Railway stated.

Sumit Thakur, chief public relations officer of Western Railway, stated the derailment happened when the coaches had been being shunted round 5 pm.

“Since it happened inside the railway yard, it did not affect the train traffic and no one was injured in it,” he stated.

Both the coaches had been ‘re-railed’ (put again on rails) round 9 pm, he stated.

Vasai Road, about 35 kilometres from Mumbai, is among the main stations in Palghar district of Maharashtra. PTI
