New Delhi, January 18

Amid a raging political controversy, the cast and crew of Amazon Prime web series ‘Tandav’, against whom multiple police complaints have been filed across the country, issued an “unconditional” apology on Monday.

A statement said “the cast and crew did not have any intention to offend the sentiments of any individual, caste, community, race, religion or religious beliefs or insult or outrage any institution, political party or person, living or dead”.

The apology comes after the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting summoned its makers. A series of grievances, petitions and apprehensions regarding hurting the sentiments of the people had reached the ministry.

The statement read, “It is a work of fiction and any resemblance to acts and persons and events is purely coincidental. The cast and crew of ‘Tandav’ take cognisance of the concerns expressed by people and unconditionally apologise if it has unintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments.”
