The CBI has termed media reviews attributed to it on its probe into the dying of actor Sushant Singh Rajput as “speculative and not based on facts”, within the first official assertion from the company on the case on Thursday.

In the assertion issued late night, the CBI stated it’s conducting investigation into Rajput’s dying in a scientific {and professional} approach.

“CBI spokesperson or any team member has not shared any details of investigation with media. The details being reported and attributed to CBI are not credible,” it stated.

Rajput, 34, was discovered hanging from the ceiling of his residence in suburban Bandra in Mumbai on June 14.

The CBI had filed an FIR taking up the probe from Bihar Police into the alleged abetment to suicide case filed by the actor’s father Okay Okay Singh in Patna towards Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her household.

Singh in his criticism to Bihar Police had alleged that Chakraborty alongside along with her members of the family had misappropriated Rajput’s wealth, which was denied by Chakraborty in TV interviews.

The CBI Director has handed over the probe to the particular investigation department which is tenting in Mumbai and has recorded statements of Chakraborty and her members of the family, met police and visited the crime scene. — PTI
