The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday filed a legal case in opposition to Rhea Chakraborty and others for his or her alleged dealings in banned medicine, officers stated.
They stated varied sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) have been pressed within the criticism filed by the federal anti-drugs company on an official reference obtained from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The alleged narcotics dealing hyperlinks are related to the legal probe being performed within the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, who was discovered hanging at his duplex flat in Mumbai’s Bandra space on June 14.
The NCB is now the third federal investigative company probing this case aside from the ED and the CBI.
The ED, which is probing a cash laundering angle into the demise of Rajput, has questioned Rhea Chakraborty, and has obtained “deleted WhatsApp messages” allegedly indicating dealings in banned medicine from her cellphone.
Rhea has been questioned by the ED about these suspect drug offers and her assertion on these allegations has been recorded by it beneath the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), officers stated.
Her lawyer Satish Manehsinde had vehemently denied the allegations made in opposition to the 28-year-old actor.
“Rhea has never consumed drugs in her life ever. She is ready for a blood test,” Maneshinde had stated.
She is the prime accused on this case and has said in her petition earlier than the Supreme Court that she was in a live-in relationship with the actor.
The ED had shared these alleged drug hyperlinks with the CBI too. PTI
