Social activist Swami Agnivesh dies at 80

Social activist Swami Agnivesh died at 80 at Delhi’s Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences on Friday, PTI quoted his medical doctors as saying.

He was affected by liver cirrhosis and was critically ailing. Reports stated he suffered from a number of organ failure.

Agnivesh had been a vocal critic of the RSS, the Sangh Parivar and its ideology. Several folks, together with lawyeractivist Prashant Bhushan, posted tweets voicing their grief at his passing.
