New Delhi, August 14
The Congress authorities in Rajasthan was marked secure for six months after Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot received the arrogance vote at present, ending month-long anxiousness triggered by a rebel.
With 123 MLAs within the 200 member Assembly professing help to Gehlot, the Congress scored an anticipated victory. Seeing the writing on the wall, Opposition BJP dropped its plan to convey a no-confidence movement towards Gehlot.
After the session, Gehlot mentioned, “Winning the belief vote is a message to the forces which might be attempting to destabilise elected governments within the nation. Their ways failed in Rajasthan. It is the individuals’s unwavering belief in us and unity of our MLAs which have introduced this victory.”
The Congress victory got here after former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot struck truce with the get together. In the Assembly at present, Pilot, seated nearer to Opposition (his seating was modified after he was sacked because the Deputy CM), mentioned, “I am now closer to the border. You know why — because the bravest and the strongest soldiers are sent to the border.”
While the Congress managed to avoid wasting the day, the BJP feels the truce between Gehlot and Pilot could be short-lived. — TNS
