A retired police sub-inspector allegedly shot himself lifeless after opening hearth at his son at their dwelling in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida over home disputes, officers mentioned on Thursday.
The son, round 35, is present process therapy at a hospital and his situation is crucial, they mentioned.
The incident passed off on Wednesday night in Escort Colony close to Railway Road in Dadri space.
“Retired sub-inspector Bachan Singh shot two bullets at his son, hitting him in the chest and a leg and then shot himself in the head using his licensed revolver,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Greater Noida, Vishal Pandey mentioned.
“Bachan Singh died at the spot, while his son was taken to a hospital, where he is undergoing treatment,” Pandey mentioned.
The incident passed off on account of frequent disputes within the household, the officer mentioned, citing preliminary enquiry of members of the family and neighbours.
Singh, round 65, was an alcoholic, and the father-son duo would steadily struggle over familial discords, and on Wednesday too, they’d a heated argument previous the shootout, based on the officers.
