Raj Thackeray fined Rs 1,000 for not sporting masks aboard ferry


Mumbai, September 21

MNS chief Raj Thackeray was fined Rs 1,000 for not sporting a face masks aboard a ship to Mandwa jetty in adjoining Raigad district, sources stated on Monday.

The incident occurred on Friday when Thackeray, together with some members of the family and pals, was on board the Mumbai-Mandva RoRo boat.

Officials on the boat identified that he had flouted the COVID-19 norms mandating sporting of masks in public, after which he paid the Rs 1,000 superb, the sources stated.

The roll on-roll off (RoRo)-cum-passenger ferry service between Mumbai and Mandwa close to Alibaug, permitting passengers to board together with their automobiles, was launched in March. — PTI
