Prez Kovind greets residents on eve of Onam, says we should deal with individuals of weaker sections of society


New Delhi, August 30

President Ram Nath Kovind greeted residents on the eve of Onam on Sunday and mentioned we should deal with individuals from the weaker sections of the society whereas celebrating festivals in the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The competition of Onam is a logo of our wealthy cultural heritage, he mentioned.

“It is also an expression of our gratitude to mother nature at the arrival of new crop,” Kovind mentioned.

“In the times of the COVID-19 pandemic, while celebrating festivals, we must take care of people from the weaker sections of the society and take adequate measures to protect and safeguard our families and society at large,” the president mentioned.

He mentioned, “May this festival strengthen the sense of cooperation and brotherhood in our country and pave the way for prosperity while living in harmony with mother nature.”

Kovind prolonged heartiest congratulations to all fellow residents, particularly to individuals of Kerala, in accordance with a press release by Rashtrapati Bhavan. PTI
