The Kolkata Police on Friday requested the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to utilize beneath galleries for makeshift quarantine facility for police personnel on an pressing foundation.
There was an emergent assembly held on the Kolkata Police Headquarters in Lalbazar with CAB senior officers and it was adopted by a joint inspection on the Eden Gardens.
CAB president Avishek Dalmiya and Hony. Secretary Snehasish Ganguly had been current throughout the inspection.
It has been determined that beneath galleries of E, F, G and H blocks could be used to arrange such amenities. In case, extra space is required, then J block may also be used. Such areas could be totally segregated as a security measure, in keeping with an announcement.
Since, the executive functioning majorly occurs at Club House, adjoining blocks (B, C, D, Ok and L) wouldn’t be used for it, permitting the CAB to make use of them for conducting its actions and / or for its administrative work, the assertion mentioned.
“It is our duty to help and support the administration in this hour of crisis. The quarantine facility would be used for police personnel who are covid warriors. The under galleries which would be used at E, F, G, H and J Blocks would be properly segregated and secured from the balance areas. The arrangement agreed between Kolkata Police and CAB would ensure that areas used for cricket and administrative Activities remain unaffected,” Dalmiya mentioned.
The groundsmen and different workers could be shifted to the dormitories and different safer areas in B, C, Ok and L blocks contained in the stadium. PTI
