Police stop suicide following Facebook submit

A person in his late 20s was prevented from committing suicide by the police in West Bengal’s Nadia district on Monday after he posted a standing on the social media, a senior Kolkata Police official stated.

Facebook authorities had contacted the Kolkata Police cyber cell at round 1.30 am on Monday by way of an e-mail after noticing a video standing posted by him which confirmed him trying suicide at his residence in Bhimpur, he stated.

A fast enquiry was initiated and a few cellphone numbers, which had been used to create the person’s Facebook profile had been discovered, the officer stated.

“Using social engineering, the placement of the individual was noticed. We additionally bought the cellphone variety of man’s father, contacted him and briefed him concerning the scenario.

“The father rushed to his son’s room and rescued him. We also alerted the Nadia district police who informed the Bhimpur police,” he stated.

A staff of policemen rushed to the person’s home from Bhimpur police station and took him to a close-by hospital the place he was handled and was later discharged, the official stated.

It was learnt that the younger man was affected by melancholy for the final three years. He had tried suicide on 4 events beforehand, the officer stated. PTI
