Pilot lifeless as Dhruv copter crashes in J&Ok


Chandigarh: A pilot was killed and another injured after a Dhruv helicopter belonging to the Army Aviation Corps crashed near Lakhanpur in Kathua district of J&K on Monday. The two pilots were evacuated to a military hospital in a critical condition where one of them, a Lieutenant Colonel, was declared brought dead. — TNS

India successfully test-fires Akash missile

Balasore: India on Monday successfully test-fired the new-generation Akash missile from an integrated test range off the Odisha coast, an official statement said. The surface-to-air missile was launched from Chandipur ITR in the afternoon, it said. The Akash-NG (new-generation) missile will be used by the Indian Air Force to intercept high-manoeuvring low radar cross-section aerial threats, it said. PTI

Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident, a highly educated couple, allegedly killed their two daughters in their 20s in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, hoping that they would come back to life within hours due to spiritual power as the Kaliyuga ends, turning into the Satyuga, the police said on Monday.
