According to the petitioner, Mishra was appointed the ED Director on November 19, 2018, for a period of two years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever was earlier and the said two-year tenure ended on November 18, 2020. But now his tenure has been extended by a year.

Mishra has already reached the retirement age of 60 years in May 2020, it pointed out.
