‘Peace Party leader arrested for making offending remarks against Hindu deities’

A Peace Party chief was arrested for allegedly making indecent remarks in opposition to Hindu gods and goddesses, police mentioned on Wednesday.

The Peace Party chief was arrested after registration of a case in opposition to him on individuals’s criticism that his social media submit had the potential to disturb communal concord, mentioned City Circle Officer TN Dubey.

“Peace Party’s district president Mohammad Shakeel Khan was arrested on Tuesday. He had made indecent remarks against Hindu gods and goddesses on social media,” he added.

Dubey mentioned the case in opposition to Khan was registered underneath varied sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Informational Technology Act.

Khan has been remanded in judicial custody after his arrest, he mentioned. PTI
