One held in Gujarat with scrapped foreign money notes value Rs 1.49 cr

A 40-year-old man was apprehended   after scrapped foreign money notes with a face worth of Rs 1.49 crore have been recovered from him in Gujarat’s Surat metropolis, police stated on Thursday.

Acting on a selected tip-off from the Gujarat Anti- Terrorist Squad (ATS), the police raided the residence of Pravin Mangukia on Wednesday and seized the demonetised foreign money notes, Surat Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) stated in a launch.

The seized foreign money included 9,728 notes of Rs 500 denomination and 10,058 notes within the denomination of Rs 1,000, having a complete face worth of Rs 1,49,22,000, the police stated. The SOG was additional investigating the case, the discharge stated. On Wednesday, two individuals from Godhra city in Panchmahal district have been nabbed with demonetised foreign money notes having a face worth of Rs 4.76 crore. They have been additionally apprehended following inputs supplied by the ATS.  PTI
