Northeast riots: Delhi Police summon Rahul Roy, Saba Dewan


New Delhi, September 14

The Delhi Police’s Special Cell has summoned quick movie producer Rahul Roy and documentary filmmaker Saba Dewan for questioning in reference to the northeast Delhi riots, official sources stated on Monday.

They stated that Dewan and Roy have been requested to affix the investigation on Monday.

It comes a day after police arrested former Jawaharlal Nehru University pupil chief Umar Khalid beneath the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for his alleged function within the riots.

He was arrested by the Special Cell after 11 hours of interrogation.

Communal clashes had damaged out in northeast Delhi on February 24 after violence between supporters of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and people in opposition to the laws spiralled uncontrolled, leaving at the least 53 individuals lifeless and round 200 injured. PTI
