No-confidence movement towards LDF Government in Kerala defeated by 87-40 votes


Thiruvananthapuram, August 24

A no-confidence movement moved by Congress-led UDF towards the LDF Government in Kerala was defeated by 87-40 votes on Monday, Assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan introduced.

After a marathon dialogue lasting 9 hours, the movement was defeated, with 87 members opposing it and 40 supporting within the 140-member House with two vacancies.

Two members of the UDF ally Kerala Congress Jose Okay Mani faction abstained themselves in the course of the voting. BJP’s lone member O Rajagopal additionally stayed away.

The Opposition mix introduced the no-confidence movement levelling numerous allegations towards the Pinarayi Vijayan Government with particular reference to the gold smuggling case. PTI
