NIA chargesheets eight in 500-kg heroin haul case

New Delhi, August 8

The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet in opposition to eight Indian members of a world narco-terror gang, who had been working from Pakistan and Dubai, beneath the NDPS Act and UAPA in reference to alleged smuggling of 500-kg heroin, price about Rs 1,500 crore, by Gujarat sea route.

In the chargesheet, the NIA has stated its probe has revealed that the heroin was introduced in three journeys from Pakistan by the ocean route in Gujarat by the gang, in connivance with Pakistani nationals, NIA spokesperson DIG Sonia Narang stated, including that each one the consignments had been ultimately transported to Punjab clandestinely. She stated, “All the three consignments were transported to Punjab where STF (Amritsar), police seized 188 kg of the drugs.” — TNS
