The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sunday stated it had busted a Jharkhand-based opium-trafficking community by seizing 24 kg of the contraband from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
A senior company official stated the drug seizure, together with money amounting to Rs 20.80 lakh, was made in two separate situations early this month and 4 folks had been arrested.
“Further investigations revealed that the two seizures are linked to Jharkhand-based networks. While Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are the traditional opium-trafficking states, Jharkhand has recently emerged as the hub of illegal supply of opium,” the official stated.
