The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has issued show-cause notices to 10 personal hospitals beneath its jurisdiction for allegedly charging exorbitant charges for therapy of COVID-19 sufferers.
After receiving quite a few complaints, Commissioner Abhijit Banghar ordered an audit of the billing of those hospitals and inspection by a crew of docs.
The audit revealed a violation of pointers of the federal government in addition to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) as to the therapy and billing, mentioned NMMC spokesperson Mahendra Konde.
Notices have been issued to those hospitals as to why motion shouldn’t be taken towards them and the surplus quantity charged to sufferers recovered, he mentioned. PTI
