The Union Cabinet in the present day permitted a proposal to arrange a National Recruitment Agency (NRA) for conducting the Common Eligibility Test (CET) to pick out candidates for all Group B and C posts within the Central Government and public sector banks.

Briefing media after the assembly of the Union Cabinet, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar stated, “The government has decided to set up National Recruitment Agency to conduct Common Eligibility Test. This decision will benefit young job-seekers.” 

1,000 examination centres throughout nation 

  • The company will conduct CET to display screen/shortlist candidates for the Group B and Group C (non-technical) posts
  • Based on CET rating, remaining choice shall be made via specialised exams performed by SSC and Railway Recruitment Board
