Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu has alleged a “big scam” within the buy of land for housing websites for the poor.

He went on to put in writing, “It is disheartening to see the Government acquiring the lands belonging to the downtrodden sections, ecologically sensitive marshlands, wetlands, low-lying lands, mangroves, and forest lands though they are not suitable for housing sites”.
Citing examples, Naidu alleged that the federal government unleashed a rip-off of Rs 500 crore within the acquisition and levelling of over 600 acre of marshland at Burugupudi village in Korukonda Mandal within the Rajanagaram Assembly constituency in East Godavari district.
He claimed that the land was acquired at a feigned and inflated value of Rs 45 lakh per acre, amounting to a complete of Rs 270 crore.
