Naidu expresses concern over delay in handing over of land for Rajya Sabha Secretariat

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday expressed concern over the delay in handing over possession of 8,700 sq. metres of land allotted to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat at RK Puram right here manner again in 2003.

At a gathering held to evaluation the standing of the difficulty with  officers of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board, Land and Development Office, Naidu  directed the officers involved to mount instant motion to get the land cleared of encroachments.

Out of a complete land of 8,700 sq. metres allotted to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, round 4,384 sq. metres was occupied by totally different organisations, together with three NGOs.

In addition, unauthorised jhuggies have come up on over an extent of 1,193 sq. metres.

Naidu famous that there had been inordinate delays and requested for steps to resolve all excellent points, together with the pending instances within the High Court.
