MP man returns house after serving jail time period in Pakistan

Lahore, September 15

An Indian nationwide has been handed over to the Border Security Force on the Wagah border, two years after he accomplished his jail time period on crossing into Pakistan “inadvertently”, officers mentioned on Tuesday.

Anil Chamaru, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, was handed over to the BSF by the Rangers on the Wagah border on Monday upon receiving his papers from the Indian High Commission, the officers mentioned.

Chamaru had crossed into Pakistan “inadvertently” from Ganda Singh Border, Kasur (some 60 km from Lahore) in March 2015, they mentioned.

He was sentenced for 2 years by a neighborhood court docket for unlawful border crossing, they mentioned, including that he needed to languish for an additional two years in jail due to a authorized lacuna. — PTI
