In a suspected case of human sacrifice, a 50-year-old man allegedly beheaded his spouse to please a deity and buried the physique in his home in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district, police stated on Thursday.
The incident passed off on Wednesday in Basauda village, positioned about 25 km from the district headquarters.
The accused was arrested on Thursday after his two sons alerted the police, district Additional Superintendent of Police Pradeep Shende stated.
The man allegedly beheaded his 45-year-old spouse within the early hours of Wednesday. He then buried the top and torso individually within the puja room of their home and later fled, the official stated.
According to his kids, the accused killed his spouse to please some deity. He additionally killed a goat some days in the past and buried the carcass within the puja room to appease the deity, the official stated.
After being alerted, the police shaped groups and nabbed the accused on Thursday, he stated.
“I am myself interrogating the accused to get to the bottom of the case. According to the statements of his two sons, it appears the man killed his wife out of superstition,” Shende added. PTI
