MHA permits increased schooling establishments to carry final-term exams

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Monday issued an order permitting the colleges and establishments of upper schooling to carry final-term examination as per the COVID-19 tips of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

In an official launch the MHA stated, this ministry “in a letter written to Union Higher Education Secretary today permitted conduct of examinations by universities and Institutions”.

It additional stated, “The final term examination are to be compulsorily conducted as per the UGC guidelines on examination and academic calendar for universities and as per the Standard Operative Procedure (SoP) approved by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.”

States like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh have already introduced the cancellation of exams in faculties and universities within the view of COVID-19 pandemic.

The revised tips by the University Grants Commission (UGC) are anticipated to be issued quickly after this notification.

It could also be recalled that in April, the UGC had requested the colleges to conduct the ultimate exams in July. The tips had additionally stated the scholars of intermediate semesters ought to be promoted on the premise of their inside evaluation and efficiency within the earlier semester examination.
