Man held in UP with heroin value Rs 1 cr from Indo-Nepal border

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on Monday arrested a person from the Indo-Nepal border right here with 107 grams of heroin valued at round Rs 1 crore within the worldwide market, officers mentioned.

The accused has been recognized as Mohammad Intkam (26), a resident of Sonauli city in Mahrajganj district of Uttar Pradesh.

Acting on a tip-off, the SSB personnel intercepted the person close to the Indo-Nepal border and seized the heroin, Sonauli Kotwali Incharge, Ashutosh Singh mentioned.

The accused was on his option to Nepal from India handy over the consignment, valued at about Rs 1 crore within the international market, Singh mentioned.

Further investigation is beneath option to discover out about his contacts and in addition the supply of the seized narcotic substance, the officer mentioned.

A case beneath the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered in opposition to the accused, Singh mentioned. PTI
