Maharashtra constructing collapse: Builder surrenders earlier than police

Mumbai, September 3

The builder who had constructed the five-storey constructing in Maharashtra’s Mahad city which collapsed final month was arrested on Thursday, an area police official stated.

Sixteen folks had been killed within the collapse of Tariq Garden constructing at Mahad in Raigad distict on August 24.

Farooq Mamoodmiya Kazi, the builder, surrendered on Thursday night, the official stated.

Kazi had been on the run after the incident, he added.

The Mahad police had earlier arrested two individuals within the case together with the constructing’s RCC marketing consultant.

The police had registered an FIR towards Farooq Kazi, RCC marketing consultant Bahubali Dhamne, architect Gaurav Shahand two others beneath IPC sections 304 (culpable murder not amounting to homicide), 304-A (inflicting loss of life by negligence) and 338 (inflicting grievous harm by act endangering life or private security of others).
