Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday hailed the presence of 84 finalists of the second National Youth Parliament competition in the Parliament House complex. He said that their inputs would inform parliamentary debates, and discussions in the future.
“Your speeches will be incorporated in parliamentary repertoire adequately,” the Speaker said engaging with the youngsters who were selected to take part in the youth Parliament proceedings after going through a pan India selection process involving 2,43000 students.
The ministries of youth affairs and education coordinate the process with respective ministers Kiren Rijiju and Ramesh Pokhriyal attending the valedictory event which was addressed by the Prime Minister.
The speaker also told the students that they were witnessing history in parliament and their presence in the heritage building will aid their preparations for civil services exams.
“This is where the Constituent assembly met and the stalwarts of the freedom movement led the country to a new dawn,” the speaker told the students.
