Short of time to debate Bills intimately, the Lok Sabha late Sunday night time handed 4 legislations inside 45 minutes.
The Bills — The Rashtriya Raksha University Bill, 2020, The National Forensic Sciences University Bill, 2020, The Salaries and Allowances of Ministers (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and The Bilateral Netting of Qualified Financial Contracts Bill 2020 — have been taken up after the home ended the five-hour COVID debate round 9.15 pm.
All these Bills had been handed by 10 pm, with transient interventions by some MPs on the salaries Bill and the monetary Bill which was moved by MoS Finance Anurag Thakur.
All Bills have been handed by voice vote.
The salaries Bill offered for chopping ministers’ and MP salaries by 30 per cent to tide over COVID exigencies.
The LS was nonetheless sitting past 10 pm with Speaker Om Birla permitting MPs to lift problems with significance.
