Shimla, December 19
The water supply to Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, will remain partially affected for a couple of days as pipes of the Giri water project, one of the main supply sources to the city, have been damaged due to a landslide.
“There is a small patch that has been witnessing landslides for the past two days. We expect the repair to be over by tomorrow,” said Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited managing director Dharmender Gill.
Shimla gets around 40 million litres of water daily, of which the Giri scheme provides 18 million litres. — TNS
