Kozhikode aircraft crash: Air India Express says 74 injured passengers discharged from hospitals

Air India Express on Tuesday mentioned 74 passengers injured within the aircraft crash in Kozhikode had been discharged from hospital after “obtaining complete fitness”.

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, on Saturday, had mentioned that 149 folks had been admitted to hospitals and 23 had been discharged whereas three have been critically injured within the B737 aircraft crash.

The Air India Express flight from Dubai with 190 folks, together with a six-member crew, overshot the tabletop runway throughout touchdown on the Kozhikode airport in heavy rain on Friday night time, fell right into a valley 35 toes under and broke into two, killing 18 folks, together with the pilots.

The injured passengers of IX-1344 flight have been being handled at varied hospitals of Kozhikode, the airline mentioned in an announcement.

“As on date, 74 injured passengers have been discharged from various hospitals after obtaining their complete fitness,” it added.

Air India Express, a wholly-owned subsidiary of nationwide service Air India, has solely B737 plane in its fleet.

The airline mentioned on Sunday that the mortal stays of 16 passengers killed within the aircraft crash had been handed over to their households and added that the authorities have been investigating the accident. PTI
