Kapil Dev discharged after angioplasty

New Delhi: India’s first World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev was on Sunday discharged from a city hospital, two days after undergoing angioplasty following a heart attack. The 61-year-old had complained of chest pain on Thursday. “He’s doing fine and can resume regular daily activity soon,” the hospital said in a statement. PTI

Drunk man beheads mother for money

Hyderabad: A drunk man allegedly beheaded his 65-year-old mother after she refused to give him money to buy liquor. The incident came to light on Saturday. P Ramulu, 45, has been arrested. Villagers found the body of Chandramma inside the house and alerted the police. Upon search, the severed head of the old woman was found in a water tank near the house. TNS

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress MLA Rahul Lodhi resigned from the party and his Assembly membership and joined the ruling BJP on Sunday, ahead of the November 3 state bypoll. With this, 26 MLAs have quit the Congress in the state since March this year. PTI
