New Delhi, July 22

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated nuclear scientists because the Kakrapar atomic energy plant-Three achieved criticality, saying the indigenous reactor is a shining instance of the ‘Make in India’ marketing campaign.

The 700 MW energy plant in Gujarat achieved criticality, that means it reached the traditional working situation of a reactor. It signifies that the plant is now set to generate energy.

“Congratulations to our nuclear scientists for achieving criticality of Kakrapar Atomic Power Plant-3. This indigenously designed 700 MWe KAPP-3 reactor is a shining example of Make in India,” the prime minister tweeted.

He stated it’s a “trailblazer for many such future achievements.” —PTI
