The Supreme Court Collegium may have Justice UU Lalit as its new and fifth member, with Justice R Banumathi superannuating as a choose of the highest court docket on Sunday. Chief Justice of India (CJI) S A Bobde and Justices N V Ramana, Arun Mishra and R F Nariman are a part of the Collegium which selects and recommends names for the appointment of judges within the Supreme Court.

Justice Lalit, who was instantly made a choose of the highest court docket from the Bar on August 13, 2014, will stay a part of the Collegium until he demits workplace as CJI on November 8, 2022. PTI
