New Delhi, December 4
Administrator of Lakshadweep and former J&K interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma passed away on Friday due to lung-related complications, officials said. He was 64.
Sharma, a former director of the Intelligence Bureau, was appointed as the administrator of Lakshadweep in October 2019.
Prior to this, he was an interlocutor for the Centre to Jammu and Kashmir.
Recalling the long period in which Sharma worked very closely with him, NN Vohra, former Governor of J&K, observed that Sharma was an outstanding Intelligence officer, who possessed rare understanding of human nature. “A kind and compassionate person, he will be missed by one and all who knew him,” he said, conveying his sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
Sharma was a 1976-batch IPS officer and belonged to the Kerala cadre.
