Jawan posted at Rashtrapati Bhawan hangs self

New Delhi, September 9

A 40-year-old Army jawan ended his life on Wednesday morning by hanging himself from a ceiling fan within the barracks of Gorkha Rifles in Rashtrapati Bhawan, police stated. 

The deceased was recognized as Tek Bahadur Thapa, a resident of Tikhayan in Nepal, they stated.

The incident was reported round four am on the South Avenue police station.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi), Deepak Yadav, stated the jawan was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan within the barrack of Gorkha Rifles. 

Against the law crew visited the spot and inquest proceedings have been initiated. 

A colleague noticed Tek Bahdur hanging from the ceiling round 3:30 am and raised an alarm. He was shifted to Base Hospital in Delhi Cantonment the place he was declared introduced useless.

On preliminary enquiry, it’s discovered that the jawan was affected by acute decrease again ache and hypertension, a senior police officer stated. PTI
