India’s ties with US going robust, says Overseas Secy

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 20

Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said it was his “firm conviction” that the India-US ties were only going to get stronger.

Speaking at a virtual interaction with the US India Strategic Partnership Forum late on Thursday, Shringla said a remarkable feature of bilateral ties was the strong bipartisan support in the US to strengthen its strategic partnership with India and work together on addressing global challenges.

“We believe that the US is a natural partner for India in our quest for building a resilient economy. We look forward to working with the new US administration,” he said.

Shringla, as India’s previous ambassador to the US, has witnessed the growing convergence between India and the US over the recent years, especially in strategic and defence cooperation, energy, economic and people-to-people ties. — TNS
