India upset over US immigration rule for college students

New Delhi, July 9

India has conveyed its issues to the US a couple of new immigration order that would drive numerous Indian college students to return residence, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) mentioned on Thursday.

“We have urged the US side that we need to keep in mind the role that educational exchanges and people-to-people relations have played in the development of our relations,” MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava informed mediapersons. The Trump administration has issued a brand new rule that bars international college students from remaining within the US if their universities will not be holding in-person lessons through the upcoming fall semester due to Covid-19. — Reuters
