Targeting the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh Government over the dying of 4 Dalits in separate incidents in Agra and Raebareli, BSP supremo Mayawati on Tuesday stated such “atrocities” on the group confirmed that “jungle raj” prevailed within the state.
She stated although folks of all communities had been struggling atrocities underneath the BJP authorities, “regular incidents of injustice” in opposition to Dalits had been a matter of “extreme concern”.
Bodies of three members of a Dalit household had been discovered of their home in Agra on Monday, whereas in Raebareli, a 19-year-old Dalit man, accused of bike theft, died in police custody on Sunday.
“Though folks of all communities are struggling every kind of atrocities underneath the BJP authorities in UP, common incidents of injustice and atrocities on Dalits are a matter of maximum concern,” Mayawati stated in a tweet in Hindi.
“The death of a Dalit youth in Raebareli due to police brutality and the murder of three Dalits in Agra, etc. are very sad and condemnable,” she stated.
“In these latest incidents in UP, the government should take prompt action against the culprits under strict legal sections and ensure the safety of people, especially the weaker section. This is the demand of the BSP. Such painful incidents taking place regularly in UP prove that ‘jungle raj’ prevails here,” she stated in one other tweet.
In the Agra incident, our bodies of Ramvir, his spouse Meera and their son Babloo had been discovered tied with tapes and their mouths filled with polythene, police stated.
The gasoline cylinder of their home was leaking because the pipe had been indifferent to burn the home together with the household, they stated.
Inspector General of Police, Agra Range, A Satish Ganesh stated three individuals had been concerned within the incident and the motive behind the crime was loot.
“On Monday night, two accused Subhash, who was the mastermind, and Vakil were arrested after an encounter. Cash and other things looted from the victims’ house were recovered from them. Efforts are on to nab the remaining accused,” he stated.
In Raebareli, Monu aka Mohit died at Lalganj police station, the place he had been known as for questioning in reference to the motorbike theft case.
